4th Friday Zikr - Special Guest Leaders
Mujahid Mark Havill - May 22, 2026
We welcome Mujahid who will lead the Zikr evening. Mujahid, a student of Murshid Moineddin, has taught Sufi practices, including Zikr, in the Northwest, California, Virginia and Russia for fifty years. He is an Experienced Farmer, Sheikh and Cherag in the Ruhaniat and a Healing Conductor in the Dervish Healing Order. He has a PhD in Slavic Linguistics and Folklore. He currently lives in Bandon, Oregon, with his wife, Vicki, and his cat, and leads Balkan folk dancing and singing on the Southern Oregon Coast.
Kalama Reuter and Fatush Kohnke - June 26, 2026
We welcome Portland Mevlevis Kalama and Fatush, along with trained musicians, for the Estaferallah Zikr brought through Makam Postneshin Jelaleddin Loras. This moving meditation practice uses synchronized chanting, music, and movement to invoke specific spiritual energies. It is intended to be a spiritually healing prayer experience as we ask for forgiveness for every breath taken without remembering divine unity.
We will sing, whirl, and dance together to polish our hearts, clarify our minds, and remember our intimate connection to God. If you are unable to stand in the circle or engage in the physical movements, you are welcome to participate fully by sitting and being present with us.
